Local1655 President- Magaly RosarioPresident's Message

Dear Local 1655 Member,

Local 1655, organized for the purpose of representing the Clerical Administrative of the New York City Transit Authority, Triborough Bridges and Tunnel and MABSTOA employees, to protect rights of workers, collective bargaining, in addition promote a positive role in society today.

In the words of the founder and first president of the United Farm Workers, "our ambition must be broad enough to include aspirations and needs of others, for their sake and our own".

Today we must meet the challenges that face us in our everyday on the job performers.  We must rise up to a new and perplex economy today, moving forward in 2009 and beyond.  Through our efforts, hard work, and dedication, we continue to make our city run, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days of the year. Today is the turning point for our sisters and brothers of Local 1655.

Many years has expired since labor fought for the right to organize unions, and the movement continues today.  I challenge you to stand shoulder to shoulder and march forward until our victory is won.  In the words of newly elected President of the United States of American,
President Barack Obama, “Yes We Can”!  We will continue to be the best workers the agency have today, because we care and take pride in performing our tasks each day.

Once again, Local 1655 is on the “Move and There‘s No Stopping Us”
